Families stroll through Genesee Valley Park to raise money for Golisano Children’s Hospital

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Families in the community got moving for Stroll for Strong Kids on Saturday morning.

It’s a fundraiser that supports programs serving Golisano Children’s Hospital’s kids and loved ones. Many families came out to Genesee Valley Park as they took a stroll and kids could enjoy activities like bouncy houses.

One woman came out to represent her son who was diagnosed with a brain tumor in November. She has also been strolling for years in honor of her niece who had brain cancer.

“It’s really important to come out to raise money for the hospital that provides really compassionate and expert care when you hope you never need it. But, for those that do, it’s, we have to be here, we have to make sure that the hospital’s supported and that these kids get what they need,” said Rebecca Laske.

Golisano Children’s Hospital serves as the referral center for all seriously ill or injured kids from the Finger Lakes region.
