Fire breaks out at medical facility on Red Creek Drive in Henrietta

HENRIETTA, N.Y. — Firefighters responded to a fire at a medical facility on Red Creek Drive Saturday morning after smoke detectors and a water flow alarm were activated.

Henrietta Fire District companies were dispatched just after 8:30 a.m., according to a press release from the fire district. Units arrived to find the building being evacuated and smoke visible inside.

Firefighters quickly located a fire on the first floor that was being held in check by the building’s automatic sprinkler system. Crews completed extinguishment efforts while simultaneously confirming that all occupants had safely evacuated the building.

The Brighton Fire Department assisted on scene, along with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and CHS Mobile Integrated Healthcare. Gates Fire District covered a serious medical emergency in Henrietta while crews remained committed to the incident.

“This incident serves as another reminder of the critical role automatic sprinkler systems play in protecting lives and property,” the fire district said.
