First Alert Weather: Tracking a chilly night and more sunshine Wednesday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – More picture perfect mid to late October weather will continue in Rochester and the Finger Lakes on Wednesday. It’ll be a chilly night, with most falling into the mid and upper 30s, with areas south of the Thruway dropping into the 20s. That means another thick frost and freeze for those south of Rochester. We’ll see an abundance of sunshine once again, with a nearly flawless blue sky on Wednesday, and temperatures just a few degrees cooler than average – putting us in the mid to upper 50s.

A weak and moisture-starved cold front will pass through on Thursday. This will bring an increase in cloud cover for a few hours into the early afternoon. But high pressure will once again move back in and win out, clearing our sky again. This means more sunshine, but slightly cooler than average temperatures to end the work week. Friday will feature a mostly sunny sky and highs in the mid 50s.

The weekend is looking very nice, with more dry weather, sunshine and milder air. Highs on Saturday will climb into the upper 50s to near 60, with mid 60s likely on Sunday. Our next chance of rain won’t arrive until Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. At that point, we’ll actually be looking for some rain.
