ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Animal Services, found at 184 Verona St., is holding a Free Dog Friday (June 12) adoption event. Adoptions will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Around 20 dogs will be available, with fees being waived for approved adopters.
All dogs will be spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. Dogs that have already been spayed or neutered can go with a new owner on the same day.
Adopters must bring a valid ID and a leash and collar.

The adoption event is ahead of significant shelter renovations to upgrade the facility with 60 new, larger kennels. The renovations are part of a larger investment to improve animal care and the visitor area, among other aspects.
A foster information session is also set for Thursday, June 25, at 6 p.m., and will be held at the Thomas P. Ryan R-Center, 530 Webster Ave.
