Less than a week after the first case, Erie County confirms a second measles infection

 

ERIE COUNTY — A second case of measles is confirmed in Erie County.

The county health department says the infected person has not traveled outside the county. This comes less than a week after the first measles case in the county since 2018.

No information yet on if the two are connected.

As of the latest update by the New York State Department of Health, there have been six confirmed cases of measles in New York City and seven in New York State outside of New York City, bringing the total to 13 in 2026.
