GATES, N.Y. — Four teenagers are facing charges after Monroe County sheriff’s deputies say they led them on a chase in a stolen car on Sunday night.
Deputies say the chase ended in Gates when the car drove off the road and into a ditch at the corner of Westside Drive and Chili Center Coldwater Road. News10NBC’s photojournalist saw dozens of deputies surrounding the car around 11:30 p.m.
Deputies say the chase started after they tried to pull over the car on Chili Avenue, but the driver refused to stop. According to the sheriff’s office, the teens inside the car tried to run away after the chase ended, but deputies arrested them.
All four teens were charged with possession of stolen property and given court appearance tickets. Deputies say they range in age from 13 to 15, with three boys and one girl. All were released to their parents.
