Police say it happened at around 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Officers found a 21-year-old man shot at least once in the upper body on Rosewood Terrace. The victim was brought to Strong Memorial Hospital for serious injuries.
Investigators say an argument between neighbors turned physical. They say it is believed the suspect, Malikai Solomon, hit the victim with a hammer, then shot him and fled.
Solomon was taken into custody Monday morning. He is charged with assault in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon. He was brought to the Monroe County Jail.
According to police, the victim remains in serious but stable condition at Strong.
