ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 17-year-old is hospitalized in critical condition after she was shot on Sunday evening following a fight on Shelter Street off Genesee Street on the city’s southwest side.
Rochester Police say a woman, 23, was stabbed during the same fight, but don’t believe the two victims injured each other. Officers responded to a report of a group fighting and a shooting just after 6 p.m. RPD arrived to find a teen with a gunshot wound to her lower body.
Soon, officers learned that a private car had taken a Greece woman to Strong Memorial Hospital with a stab wound, probably from a knife. Police described her wound as non-life-threatening.
No suspects are in custody and anyone with information or video is asked to call 911.
