EAST BLOOMFIELD, N.Y. — Two people were seriously hurt after an ATV crashed into an SUV in Ontario County on Saturday.
It happened on Gauss Road in East Bloomfield after 11 p.m. Investigators say a Toyota RAV4 yielded to the shoulder of the road for an emergency car. Two people on an ATV riding east slowed down, but not enough to avoid hitting the RAV4. The ATV and riders went off the shoulder of the roadway, and sheriff’s deputies later found the 19-year-old and 20-year-old down an embankment with serious injuries.
They’re being treated at Strong Memorial Hospital, and the people in the SUV were uninjured.
The Canandaigua Emergency Squad, Mercy Flight, East Bloomfield, and Bristol and Chesire Fire Departments assisted at the scene. The crash is under investigation.
