HENRIETTA, N.Y. — A 17-year-old boy is facing charges after Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies say he failed to listen to their commands and tried to flee.
Deputies say it started just before 9 a.m. Friday when they were called to a parking lot behind Rush-Henrietta High School and the Elmer Gordon Stadium for the report of a suspicious group of people gathered around a car.
When deputies got there, they say the group returned to the school, except one. They say they asked the remaining person, the 17-year-old boy, multiple times to comply, but he refused.
Deputies say the teen then tried to flee in the car, then tried to flee on foot. Deputies eventually were able to take the teen into custody.
The teen is charged with resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, trespass, and unlicensed operator. He was issued an expedited family court appearance ticket.
