State approves National Grid’s three-year rate hike plan for gas and electricity

 

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The New York State Public Service Commission has approved National Grid’s plan to hike gas and electricity rates over the course of three years.

For electricity, customers will see an average increase of $14.32 in year one, $6.44 in year two, and $4.34 in year three. For gas, customers will see an average increase of $7.66 in year one, $8.08 in year two, and $9:18 in year three.

National Grid said the rate plan will “enhance energy affordability programs, enable key reliability and resiliency investments, promote economic growth, and advance New York’s energy goals.” The approval of the rate hike plan was unanimous.
