ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Folk Art Guild held a Meet the Craftspeople event on Saturday afternoon at the Central Library.
The event gave visitors the opportunity to speak directly with artists and makers who had their work on display.

One woodworker graduated from the University of Rochester and joined the guild 51 years ago. He showed off one of his pieces at the event. “It really was a gift because over the years I’ve grown to love working in wood,” said David Barnet

“This is actually a bowl I made recently out of wood that we’ve found in a neighbor’s yard. And it’s spalted maple. And it really was a lot of wonderful work,” Barnet added.
Barnet said he enjoys speaking with people who have used his products over the years.
The guild was founded in 1957.
