ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Amerks are welcoming a new general manager to town.
The Buffalo Sabres announced Tuesday that Stacy Roest will be the Amerks’ new general manager. He’s a new face in Rochester, but worked last season as the pro scout for the Sabres.
Prior to his time in Buffalo, Roest was director of player development for the Tampa Bay Lightning. He became Tampa Bay’s assistant general manager in 2019-20, while also serving as general manager for Tampa’s AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.
Roest also helped lead Team Canada in 2025 during an international tournament in Switzerland.
The Alberta native also played five NHL seasons as a forward with the Detroit Red Wings and Minnesota Wild from 1998 to 2003.
The Sabres let go of former Amerks General Manager Jason Karmanos in December, shortly after former Sabres General Manager Kevyn Adams was fired.
