Rochester Police announce arrest in June deadly hit-and-run on West Ridge Road

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 21-year-old is facing charges after being accused of hitting a man with their car that resulted in the man’s death.

Rochester Police say they responded to the area of West Ridge Road and Mount Read Boulevard on June 14 for the report of a pedestrian hit. When officers got there, they found Krishna Magar, 41, with serious injuries. Magar was brought to Strong Memorial Hospital where he died.

According to police, Magar was riding an E-Bike on the sidewalk when Charod Olison drove onto the median and hit Magar and multiple signs while trying to pass another car. Police say Olison then fled.

Olison was later found on Bergen Street, where police say they executed a search warrant and recovered the damaged car.

Olison was arraigned on an indictment warrant on Sept. 15, charging Olison with manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, and aggravated unlicensed operation.
