Rochester man sentenced to 87 months for buying guns in Pennsylvania and selling them illegally in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A Rochester man convicted of firearms trafficking was sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison.

Todd L. Addison, 38, was sentenced to serve 87 months in prison.

Addison bought as many as seven firearms from Federal Firearms Licensees in Pennsylvania and transported them to New York from March 2025 to August 27, 2025.

After buying them, he sold them illegally in Rochester. One buyer was a felon, and U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo says Addison knew that when he sold it to them.

The Investigation

Last August, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Rochester Police Department Violent Crime Task Force searched Addison’s house on Hudson Avenue and the car officials say he used to drive to and from Pennsylvania.

In the house, they also found empty pistol boxes for various firearms, multiple black pistol holders and a gun cleaning kit.

Officers found a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, 56 rounds of ammunition and pistol magazines when they searched the car.
