ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A prior felon from Rochester has pleaded guilty to new federal charges.
Stevon Spencer, 29, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of ammunition.
Federal prosecutors say on Aug. 5, 2025, Rochester Police saw him with a semiautomatic handgun while he was in a Facebook Live.
Later that same day, officers found Spencer on Ackerman Street. Officers arrested him after a short foot chase. During his arrest, prosecutors say Spencer had a pistol in his waistband.
He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and released on a $10,000 bond.
A few weeks later, prosecutors say Spencer was arrested again on a federal warrant charging him with being a felon in possession of ammunition. After his arrest, officers searched his home and found another loaded semiautomatic handgun.
According to prosecutors, Spencer was convicted of robbery in the second degree in August 2018, which prohibits him from having a handgun.
Spencer is set to be sentenced in February. He faces a maximum penalty of 15 years and a fine of $250,000, or both.
