YATES COUNTY, N.Y. — The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched town in Yates County Thursday.
NWS says it touched down near Rock Stream in Yates County. There was a tornado warning up for a short period of time Thursday morning.
On Thursday, wind gusts in excess of 50 mph brought down trees and power lines, with more than 20,000 RG&E customers in Monroe County alone losing power during the peak of the strong winds.
