ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A man who was accused of setting a fire in Rochester that killed an 8-year-old girl over two decades ago will be set free.
News10NBC has learned that Timothy Kuhn’s indictment has been thrown out. That indictment charged him with murder and arson in the death of Savannah Streber.
Police had alleged that Kuhn threw a Molotov cocktail into a home on Yates Street off North Goodman Street in February 2004, killing young Savannah. They said Kuhn had a strained relationship with Savannah’s mother.
The case went cold until Kuhn’s arrest in Florida in December 2023. We’re working to learn why the indictment was tossed. Kuhn’s trial was due to begin on Tuesday. Now, Kuhn is expected to be released from the Monroe County Jail on Tuesday afternoon.
