Careers in Construction Day
Construction professionals will be at the Monroe County Fleet Center on Thursday for the 28th annual Rochester Careers in Construction Day. More than 1,200 local students are expected to take part and learn about training and apprenticeship opportunities.
More than 55 exhibitors, including employers, construction unions, and training providers, will be there. There will also be hands-on activities and outdoor heavy equipment displays to help students learn about career paths. The fair runs from 9 a.m. to noon at Building 11 within the center on 145 Paul Rd. You can learn more about the fair here.
Job fair at YMCA in Medina
Over a dozen employers from multiple different industries will be at the YMCA on Pearl Street in Medina on Thursday for a job fair.
The Orleans County Job Development Agency is organizing the job fair, and no registration is necessary. The fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Organizers are asking people to bring their resume and be prepared to interview. You can learn more about the development agency’s job-seeking resources here.
Lollypop Farm free cat day
Cat adoptions will be free on Thursday at Lollypop Farm, for both the Fairport campus and the adoption center at Greece Ridge Mall. Appointments are required for all adoptions, and kittens will not be free to adopt.
For Fairport, check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. and adoptions are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. The adoptions will run through 5 p.m. or until the line reaches capacity. The Greece location will operate under its normal hours or until no pets are available.

For those unable to make a long-term adoption commitment, Lollypop Farm also has a pet foster program to allow community members to provide a temporary home for animals. You can register for the program here.
