Memorial Art Gallery Halloween party (Friday)

People can also dance to a DJ, participate in art making, and see a spooky film in the M&T Bank Ballroom. The celebration runs from 8 to 11 p.m. You can learn more here.

National Drug Takeback Day (Saturday)

Saturday marks National Prescription Drug Takeback Day, a biannual campaign organized by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration to keep people safe from unused medication.

In the Rochester area, police departments and Wegmans stores are giving people a chance to get rid of old medication. The DEA says the campaign helps to combat substance abuse and prevent medications from ending up in landfills, leading to environmental harm. You can see a list of local drug collection drives in this story.

Halloween at the Rochester Public Market (Sunday)

Children will get a chance to trick-or-treat at the Rochester Public Market on Sunday. Halloween at the Market runs from 4:30 to 7 p.m. and will include candy at the vendor sheds, interactive activities, live entertainment, and crafts. Admission is free, and children are encouraged to wear their costumes.

There are other Halloween-themed events happening around Rochester next week, including at libraries, R-Centers, and the Maplewood Nature Center. You can see News10NBC’s guide here.

UR Medicine Home Care is holding its inaugural Run to Remember Hospice, a 5K to raise funding for hospice care in the Rochester area, on Sunday morning.

The race starts and finishes at Genesee Valley Park near the Roundhouse Shelter. The 5K and a 1.25-mile walk both start at 9:30 a.m. Organizers say the event will provide people with a way to honor loved ones who have received end-of-life care.
