ROCHESTER, N.Y. – News10NBC is tracking the latest in the tropics as Hurricane Isaias is strengthening this morning in the Gulf and may become a Cat 3 storm on Friday with sustained winds of 120 mph in the forecast.
Landfall should be around midnight tonight in the Florida Panhandle near Pensacola. Stay tuned to News10 for updates through the day. The remnants of the storm will move north this weekend and arrive here around midday Sunday. Steady rain is looking more and more likely for Sunday afternoon and evening with a soaking half an inch to inch of rain on the way. Threat Tracker is green.
Closer look at your Friday weather will see lots of sunshine to start the day before a few puffy clouds develop during the afternoon. Like yesterday we may see a brief shower develop mid to late afternoon but most of stay dry through the day. Temps will be in the 60s with a gusty breeze once again. Skies clear this evening and plan on dry and chilly weather for any outdoor plans into tonight. Looking ahead to next week fair weather for Monday holidays and then showers with a cold front Tuesday and cooler weather middle of next week.
