BATAVIA, N.Y. — With Saturday’s storms and strong winds, the Batavia Fire Department reminded residents to avoid downed power lines.

The department shared a video from Friday morning showing downed and live power lines with visible fire and smoke. However, they said this is not usually the case with calls for downed power lines.
Officials said all downed lines should be considered live and reported immediately.
