MARCELLUS, N.Y. — A Farmington woman has died and a Farmington man is hospitalized after their motorcycle crashed southwest of Syracuse on Sunday.
New York State Police say their motorcycle collided with a car at the intersection of Route 20 and Slate Hill Road in Marcellus just after 10 a.m. Troopers say the car stopped on Slate Hill Road and didn’t yield to the right-of-way of the motorcycle, which was traveling along Route 20.
The crash caused the motorcycle driver, a 55-year-old man, and the passenger, a 55-year-old woman, to be thrown from the bike. Police say both were taken to Upstate University Hospital, where the woman, Karyn Stratton, later died.
The man is still hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The other driver wasn’t injured. Troopers are still investigating the crash.
