ITHACA, N.Y. — Students at Cornell University held a sit-in on Wednesday to protest the school’s response to its investigation into an alleged 2024 gang rape.

Organizers said the protest took place inside a campus dining hall and lasted seven hours.

They said the length of the sit-in was meant to mark the seven hours Jane Doe endured during her assault at a Cornell frat house.
The protest was part of the school’s “Zero Day,” an economic blackout that called on students to disrupt business as usual by not attending class or spending money on campus.
