IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. — The Town of Irondequoit has finished upgrading the Bristol Play Area.
The town held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday to celebrate the completion. According to town officials, the new play area has an inclusive accessible design that welcomes kids of various ages and abilities.
“Projects like this are about much more than equipment and improvements,” said Town Supervisor John Perticone. “They are about creative space where our children can play, families can come together, and our community can build memories for years to come.”

The upgraded play area features a main play structure with ramps, climbers, and sensory panels, an inclusive seesaw and swings, and rubber surfacing throughout the playground.
The construction started in July and was financed with American Rescue Plan Act funding provided by Monroe County.
