Bauman’s Farm in Penfield sets up temporary tent to serve customers after fire destroys market building

WEBSTER, N.Y. — Bauman’s Farm is slowly making a comeback after a fire earlier this week destroyed the market building and shop.

The family farm posted pictures to Facebook showing a temporary tent set up to continue serving customers. One of the managers said most of the greenhouses had superficial damage.

Many local farms have stepped up to collect donations for the farm. “The affection the community has given us is beyond words that I can express,” Dan Bauman said. “We are very happy to be a staple in this town and to have such an outpour of affection.”

News10NBC reached out to the West Webster Fire District to see if it has determined a cause yet. Officials said not yet, which is not unusual.

The tent will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
