16‑Year‑Old Charged After Neighbors Stop Assault at Webster Apartments

 

WEBSTER, N.Y. — A 16-year-old boy was arrested after neighbors stopped him from dragging a woman into a room at a Webster apartment complex on Saturday.

Webster Police officers responded to the Country Manor Way apartment complex around 3:45 p.m. following reports of an assault in progress. Nearby residents heard the victim yelling for help and intervened, preventing the teenager from continuing the assault.

When officers arrived, the teenager ran away but was quickly found and arrested. He lived in the same building as the victim.

The teenager was taken to Monroe County CAP Court for arraignment and was sent to a juvenile detention center. He faces charges of attempted rape in the first degree, sexual abuse in the first degree, unlawful imprisonment in the second degree and assault in the third degree.

The victim is safe and was treated for non life-threatening injuries.
