HONEOYE FALLS, N.Y. — The woman found guilty of killing her sister in Honeoye Falls a year and a half ago has been sentenced to prison.
Jamie Busch has been sentenced 25 years to life for murder in the second degree and four years for tampering with evidence, to run concurrent.
A jury in February found Jamie guilty of second-degree murder and tampering with evidence in the death of Penny Busch, 62. Prosecutors say Jamie strangled her sister inside Penny’s home in October of 2024, then dumped Penny’s body in the Genesee River. They also say Jamie took her sister’s three cell phones and dumped them in the garbage can outside Dunkin’ Donuts.
The trial took several days of testimony and two days of deliberation.
