ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A woman is in critical but stable condition after an early morning shooting.
Officers with the Rochester Police Department responded just after 4 a.m. Saturday to the area of Hudson Avenue and Dayton Street for a report of a person shot.
When officers arrived, they found a 25-year-old Rochester woman with at least one gunshot wound to the upper body. She was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where her injuries were described as critical but stable.
Police say no suspects are in custody. However, investigators believe the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and that there is no known threat to the public.
A portion of Dayton Street between Hudson Avenue and Bauman Street remains closed to traffic.
