ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Friday is National Wear Red Day. The American Heart Association is asking everyone to wear red to raise awareness for women’s heart health. In addition, some groups in Rochester are holding free blood pressure screenings.
The lobby of Strong Memorial Hospital will have blood pressure screenings and demonstrations to learn Hands-Only CPR and how to use an AED kit. It’s happening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday.
In addition, Rochester Regional Health will have blood pressure checks, heart health information, and Hands-Only CPR demonstrations starting at 6 p.m. at the Blue Cross Arena. It’s happening ahead of Friday night’s Rochester Amerks game. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. and you can get tickets here.
Several buildings in downtown Rochester will be lit up in red on Friday night. Heart disease is the no. 1 killer of women, the American Heart Association says.
