Wayne County man arrested after State Police say he had child exploitation material

CLYDE, N.Y. — A 34-year-old man from Wayne County has been arrested following an investigation into multiple CyberTipline reports gotten from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Starting in July 2024, NCMEC let State Police know about several reports of uploads of suspected child sexual abuse material.

Through investigations, State Police say they identified Timothy Daniel, 34, as the suspected user of the online accounts referred to in the CyberTipline reports.

A search warrant was executed in February, where investigators took an electronic device belonging to Daniel for forensic examination.

State Police say after the analysis, investigators found multiple files of child sexual exploitation material. Daniel was arrested Wednesday and charged with three counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child.

Daniel was processed and released on an appearance ticket.
