Watertown cannabis shop shut down after 16-year-old hospitalized

WATERTOWN, N.Y. — The New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) ordered for the closing of 420 Glass LLC in Watertown due to an underaged girl being suspected of consuming the store’s cannabis, ending up with her in the hospital last month.

Back on Monday, Feb. 23, OCM got a report of a 16-year-old girl being taken to the hospital, following a purchase of cannabis from the unlicensed store.

Investigators say they seized various cannabis products, then shutting down the store.

“When unlicensed operators sell untested products, they put public health and safety at risk. When they sell to underage youth, those risks are increased. Our investigators will continue to act swiftly on credible complaints to protect consumers and uphold the integrity of the legal market,” said Daniel Haughney, Director of Enforcement and Investigations for the New York State Office of Cannabis Management.

No arrests were made for the suspected underaged sale, due to a lack of information, OCM said.

The store was located at Salmon Run Mall.
