CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — Six people were taken to hospitals Saturday after a rollover ATV crash involving a dozen people.
The crash happened at 9:32 p.m. Saturday on Smith Road, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies say Michael G. VanBrooker, 63, of Canandaigua was operating a 2015 John Deere Gator ATV while under the influence of alcohol and backed it into a ditch — throwing himself; Theresa B. VanBrooker, 63; and 10 juveniles from the AV.
The VanBrookers were taken by ambulance to Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua — Michael VanBrooker with injuries to his arms and Theresa VanBrooker with injuries to her arms and neck. Four of the juveniles were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for complaints of pain and evaluation.
Michael VanBrooker was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and will appear later in Canandaigua Town Court.
