WASHINGTON, Feb 3 (Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday signed a law that will extend a preferential trade program for Africa through December 31, effective retroactively to September 30, 2025, the chief U.S. trade negotiator said.
U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said the law needed to be updated to provide more market access for U.S. businesses, farmers and ranchers, and his office would work with Congress to modernize the law over the next year.
