ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Localized lake effect snow has started falling in the Rochester region on Thursday morning. Some may see only a few inches, while others may need to clear their driveways.

The snow could create slick roads for your morning commute. We’re tracking up to two inches west and south of Rochester and up to four inches east of Rochester, into the Finger Lakes. For some towns along Lake Ontario, including Sodus and Wolcott, we’re tracking up to eight inches.

First Alert Meteorologist Nate Morris is traveling around the area, tracking the snowfall. He started in Brighton. Tune into News10NBC TODAY now through 7 a.m. Livestream our show here.

The lake effect snow will begin to clear around Thursday night into Friday morning, but brace for a chill on Friday. See our latest forecast here
