Three teens charged after being accused of having two stolen guns and stolen car

HENRIETTA, N.Y. — Three teens are facing charges after being accused of having a stolen car and two stolen guns.

Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies say on May 23, deputies got a License Plate Reader (LPR) alert for a stolen car. They say the car was found just before 9 p.m. that night parked in the Marketplace Mall parking lot.

After reviewing camera footage, deputies saw four teens walk into a restaurant after parking the car. Deputies say they went into the restaurant and found the four from the video sitting at a table.

They say they detained the teens and recovered the keys from a garbage can after learning they were thrown away when deputies walked in.

According to deputies, one of the teens had a loaded single-shot pistol. Deputies also say while technicians processed the stolen car for evidence, they found a second loaded defaced semi-automatic handgun in the car.

After investigators completed interviews, they determined one of the teens wasn’t involved and released them to their parents.

Three boys, 13, 14, and 16, are charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second and third degrees, and criminal possession of stolen property.

One of the teens was released to his parents with an appearance. One of the other teens was arraigned and transported to the Rush Detention Center. The last teen was brought to the detention center without arraignment.
