ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A historic church in Rochester’s East End is getting a makeover thanks to the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
The trust is giving the Third Presbyterian Church a $100,000 grant as part of its annual National Fund for Sacred Places program.
The church plans to use the money to restore the buildings exterior stone, bell tower, and roof. The church at the corner of East Avenue and Meigs Street was was built back in the 1890’s.
A total of $8.73 million is set to go to 29 churches and one synagogue across the country, including the Third Presbyterian Church.
