WEBSTER, N.Y. — The Coach sports bar in Webster is back open over a year after a fire nearly destroyed it. Patrons packed the bar on West Main Street on Thursday for its first full day of service since the fire.
News10NBC has tracked the repairs ever since the March 2025 fire. Owner Fritz Sierk thanked the first responders who battled the fire and the community for all their support.
“Ever since the fire 14 months ago, there’s always been a huge amount of support,” Sierk said. “I mean, this is an unannounced first day open, and we’re good and busy. We’re just amazingly supported in the village and town.”
The Coach is back to regular hours, daily from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. Sierk has worked at the bar for over 35 years and has owned it for over 25 years. Last June, the bar staff held a fundraiser to support the employees who were put out of work because of the fire.
