GATES, N.Y. – Gates Police said a teenager is recovering after being hit by a car while riding a bike on Spencerport Road on Saturday evening.
Police said the teen did not stop while trying to cross Spencerport Road and rode into traffic. The teen was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
Police said the driver of the car was not at fault.
Another car, which was not part of the scene, swerved to avoid the crash and hit a tree at the Northampton Parks Apartments. That driver was not hurt, and the car had minor damage.
