WOLCOTT, N.Y. — A delivery driver was killed after State Police say he was pinned by a van while making a delivery in Wolcott Monday.
State Police say it happened just before 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Investigators say a delivery driver pulled his van into the driveway of a home while delivering a package. After stopping, the driver left the van to get packages from the cargo area when State Police say the van started to roll towards the home.
The driver tried stopping the van before it hit the house, but State Police say he lost his footing and became pinned between the moving van and a porch support, suffering severe head injuries.
Bystanders immediately moved the van off the driver and started rendering aid until emergency crews got there. The driver was brought to Upstate University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to State Police, the house had minor damages.
