About the Show

Now serving his second term as Mayor of Hornell, John Buckley is a lifelong resident with a deep love for the community he calls home. His journey in public service began on the City of Hornell Zoning Board of Appeals and grew into an eight-year tenure as City Alderman, including four years as Deputy Mayor. He took office as Mayor on January 1, 2018, bringing with him a hands-on understanding of the city’s needs and a tireless commitment to its people. John and his wife are proud to be raising their two daughters right here in Hornell, the same place where they were married and built their life together. Known for his approachable nature and dedication to community, John spent ten years coaching youth soccer and remains a familiar face at local events and gatherings. Before entering public office, he was a familiar voice on the airwaves as co-host of “News Talk” on WLEA, where he connected with residents on the issues that mattered most. Whether it’s in City Hall, community events, or chatting with neighbors around town, Mayor Buckley’s heart is always with Hornell — working every day to make it a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
