Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand released a list of organizations in the region that are set to get funding. The bill passed the House on Tuesday and the Senate last week before going to the president’s desk. It includes funding for transportation, housing and urban development, health and human services, education, and more.
Rochester Public Market
The market will get $2 million for expansion. The money will go toward constructing an Indoor Market Space and Nutrition and Events Center, which aims to provide affordable, healthy food in an area with limited access to grocery stores. RBTL has owned part of the Auditorium Theatre portion of the building since 2004 and bought the entire building in March of 2023. RBTL said that, to date, almost $20 million has been committed to ‘Project Resouration’, with the total transformation cost estimated to be $65 million.
Multi-Craft Apprenticeship Preparation Program
