YORK, N.Y. — Firefighters from the York Volunteer Fire Department responded to a brush fire that happened during the York-Leicester Field Days fireworks display at York Central School Thursday night.
The fire department says the fire happened in a field near the American Rock Salt bagging plant and the GW Railroad. They say due to the quick response and coordinated efforts with all agencies involved, crews were able to get to the area and stop the fire from spreading further.
Nobody was hurt, and the fire was put out quickly.
