Woman dies after being found shot in Gothic Street area of Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police have released the name of the woman shot and killed on Gothic Street off North Street on the city’s northeast side.

Kitana Kendrick, 31, died soon after arriving at Strong Memorial Hospital. Police say she wasn’t the intended target.

Officers responded to the shooting just before 2 a.m. on Sunday and found Kendrick with at least one gunshot wound. According to investigators, the shooting started with an argument that escalated and Kendrick was hit with a stray round near Pulaski Park.

Police believe that no one involved in the argument lives on Gothic Street. They say Kendrick wasn’t involved in the argument.
