ROCHESTER. N.Y. — RPD bodycam footage has been released from last month’s officer shooting on Thurston Road and Chili Avenue. Some of the officers are still getting treatment and recovering from injuries.
RPD held a press conference at 10 a.m. on Thursday about the shooting that occurred on Chili Avenue last month.
New information on the RPD shooting from December
RPD isn’t releasing the officer’s names at this time. According to the latest reports, officer one is still receiving treatment outside of a hospital setting. Officer two continues to get treatment at Strong Memorial Hospital for serious injuries. Officer three was discharged from Strong Memorial Hospital on Dec. 24.
The preliminary investigation found that officers one and two approached the suspect, Eric Davis, 38, near a home, and the suspect then shot at the two officers with a handgun, striking both officers.
The suspect then fled on foot towards the back yards. As this occurred, the civilian victim and two officers shot at the suspect. The civilian was hit at least two times, once by one of the officers’ handguns, reports say. The male victim has also been released from the hospital.
As the police officers were being rushed to the hospital, officer two relayed information about the suspect to responding officers. The responding officers located the suspect near the intersection of Thurston Road and Arnett Boulevard, where officer three attempted to stop the suspect. He then shot at officer three, and the officer was struck in the upper body.
The injured officer three shot back at the suspect. A fourth officer also arrived on the scene and shot at the suspect.

The shooting remains under investigation.
