ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The City of Rochester is expanding its After School in the Park program for the upcoming school year, with a new location at the Maplewood Nature Center.
What it is
The after-school care is for children ages six to 11 at Cobbs Hill Park and the new Maplewood Nature Center.
“A safe, supportive environment with opportunities to learn, play and make new friends – that’s what parent and guardians can count on when they enroll their children in After School in the Park,” Mayor Malik D. Evans said. “And this year, with the opening of our new Maplewood Nature Center, we’re able to make affordable after-school care accessible for even more students and families in our community.”
The program starts September 8 and runs until June 24, 2027. The city says the program includes educational enrichment and other activities from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The city says activities will vary by season but include help with homework, nature programming, dance, and more. on It costs $120 per week.
