ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Spring has sprung! Well, maybe the cold temps haven’t made their way out just yet, but the large snow piles have melted. With that, some neighborhoods and streets could use a touch-up.
Every year, the City of Rochester hosts its annual “Clean Sweep.” Community members come together to spend their Saturday making our neighborhoods a cleaner place. Rochester Mayor Malik Evans announced Tuesday this year’s Clean Sweep will take place on May 2.
How to participate
The Clean Sweep will start at 8 a.m. at ESL Ballpark on Morrie Silver Way. Walk-ins are welcome, but the city encourages individuals or groups to register ahead of time by calling 311 or (585) 428-5990 or through the link below.

“I encourage everyone to come out for this springtime Rochester tradition,” said Mayor Evans. “And if you can’t make it to Clean Sweep, remember that you can sign up to conduct a neighborhood Mini Sweep any time of year. It takes all of us working together, year-round, to keep Rochester beautiful.”
After your hard work, the city says crews will be brought back to ESL Ballpark for a complimentary Rochester Red Wings game and lunch.
