One dead after two-car crash in Pavilion, Genesee County

PAVILION, N.Y. — An 80-year-old man from Rochester is dead after a crash that happened in Genesee County at the intersection of South Lake Road and Junction Road in Pavilion on Tuesday evening.

According to Genesee County sheriff’s deputies, a 68-year-old from Pavilion was driving and hit a deer. They say the deer went through the windshield of Michael Vaccaro’s car who was driving in the other direction, which resulted in the car going into a ditch.

Deputies say Vaccaro was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of his injuries from the deer going through the windshield.

The driver from Pavilion was not injured, according to deputies. They say the investigation is ongoing.
