ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester community came together Saturday to celebrate the life and legacy of Bishop Jerry McCullough, a longtime spiritual leader who founded Faith Temple Apostolic Church Ministries more than five decades ago.
Friends, family and members of the community attended his funeral at 11 a.m. at the Bethel Christian Fellowship on East Avenue. This followed a memorial service Friday night.

Daryl McCullough, the bishop’s oldest grandchild, reflected on his grandfather’s impact.
“The level that he was at, it’s going to be hard to top it,” McCullough said. “His legacy is so great, so big, I know they’re going to have to take a street sign and name it after him … that’s how big he was to the City of Rochester.”
Bishop McCullough’s ministry, rooted in Faith Temple Apostolic Church Ministries in Rochester’s 19th Ward, touched generations of worshippers and community members.
