ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Winter igloo tickets for the 8th annual Roc Holiday Village go on sale on Thursday. Tickets will be available starting at 10 a.m. until they sell out. You can get tickets online here.
Last year, the tickets sold out in a day. Each semi-heated igloo can accommodate up to six people and includes furnishings, blankets, and a Bluetooth speaker. You can order food for the igloos through the dedicated server or through preordering. Tickets are $222 for a 90-minute private igloo booking, and bookings cannot be rescheduled or canceled.
The free winter village at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park is set to open on Black Friday, Nov. 27, earlier than previous years. Once again, the village in downtown Rochester will feature ice skating at the MLK Park outdoor rink, a shopping village, fire pits, and cultural celebrations. It will also feature crafts for kids at the Gingerbread House, live music at the Triple O Lodge, and visits with Santa.
This year’s festival will run for 16 days. Last year, the village had more than 200,000 visitors. Jenna Manetta-Knauf, a co-founder of Roc Holiday Village, said she’s happy with how much the annual celebration has grown.
“It’s really heartwarming that there’s a full house eight years later, that we’re still doing something that doesn’t feel tired, that is still doing something for the community,” she said. “…It really does take a village to build our village.
Once again, Roc Holiday Village will host the Winter Wonderland Run 5K. It’s taking place on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 4:15 p.m. It starts and finishes on Chestnut Street outside the holiday village and heads along the Genesee Riverway Trail. You can register here.
Like previous years, guests can stake for free at the ice rink during village hours, and there will be a limited number of free stake rentals. You can see rink hours here.

- Week Three: Wednesday, Dec. 9, Thursday, Dec. 10, Friday, Dec. 11, Saturday, Dec. 12, and Sunday, Dec. 13
- Week Four: Wednesday, Dec. 16, Thursday, Dec. 17, Friday, Dec. 18, Saturday, Dec. 19, and Sunday, Dec. 20
